Alejandro Hazera is Vangermeersch Professor of Accounting and Coordinator of the Accounting faculty at the University of Rhode Island. He has authored articles on the how the organizational culture of Japanese and U.S. companies has affected the competitiveness of those nations’ companies. Currently, his research focuses on the interrelationship between bank loan accounting and the advent and magnitude of financial crises, especially in developing nations. He has been invited to lecture on financial crisis at Spain’s Commerce Ministry and Mexico’s National University. He also lectured on financial crises as a Fulbright Senior Specialist in Ecuador in 2006.
