The University of Rhode Island’s Diversity Week celebrates the rich backgrounds and cultures that our students, staff and faculty bring to our campus community, while also challenging us to explore the sharp edges of diversity issues. Through a full schedule of interactive workshops, films, lectures, and creative exercises led by faculty, staff, administrators, students and friends, Diversity Week highlights the importance of diversity and identity in higher education, the workplace, the community and the global arena. Co-sponsored by the Diversity Week Planning Committee and the Multicultural Center, Diversity Week is a collaboration with the Psychology Department, the Sociology Department, other academic departments, and URI Student Senate, and assorted student groups.
