Biography
Audrey Morrissey is the Executive Director of My Life My Choice, a Program of the Justice
Resource Institute. As a local and national leader in the field of exploitation, Ms. Morrissey has shaped policy and service provision for survivors of commercial sexual exploitation across Massachusetts and beyond. She founded My Life My Choice’s Survivor Mentoring program in 2004 when she became the first Survivor Leader to mentor adolescent girls in Massachusetts. She serves as a lead trainer for My Life My Choice and oversees My Life My Choice’s national survivor leadership efforts. She uses her voice to advocate for policy change for survivors on a national level and is currently advocating for the Sex Trade Survivors Act in Massachusetts. Her work and leadership have been widely recognized: in 2008 she was the recipient of the prestigious Petra Foundation Fellowship; in 2012 she was the recipient of The Philanthropic Initiative’s Boston Neighborhood Fellows Award; in 2019 she was the recipient at Elizabeth Stone House Giving Voice to the Voiceless Awardee; in 2020 she received the Massachusetts Office of Victims Assistance Special Recognition Award; in 2021 she received the Heroes Award Honoree from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children; and is 2022 she received the World Without Exploitation Guiding Light Award. Ms. Morrissey lends her expertise as a Board Member for World Without Exploitation, Safe Exit Initiative, and the Massachusetts Office for Victims Assistance. Ms. Morrissey was appointed to the U.S. Advisory Council on Human Trafficking by former President, Joe Biden, and also serves on Shared Hope International’s JUST Response Council, and the Massachusetts Governor’s Council to Address Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence, and Human Trafficking and their Survivor Advisory Group.
