Abstract

Kenneth Florey, emeritus professor of English at Southern Connecticut State University and one of the foremost collectors of woman suffrage memorabilia in the U.S., gave a presentation about the material culture of the women’s suffrage movement, based on his unique collection.

The collection contains significant holdings in such areas as postcards, buttons, sheet music, posters, ceramics, advertising cards, and ribbons.

This event was sponsored by the Center for the Humanities, the Honors Program, and the Suffrage Centennial Committee.
