Abstract
The article discusses issues related to the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) Research. Topics discussed include eight reading foundational skills references on phonics, vocabulary and spelling; research-based practices to bridge students to reading complex texts; and research-based knowledge to critically examine the research base of the education reform.
