Abstract
We have studied the coadsorption of two quite different metals with thin films of the molecular icosahedron orthocarborane (C2B10H12). The monovalent metal Na forms a bulk metal-icosahedral complex, while the divalent metal Hg does not intermix with the orthocarborane and instead forms islands at the orthocarborane-copper interface. This behavior is reminiscent of metal doping of fullerides. © 1995.
