Abstract
Dynamic fracture in specimens of 2×2 twill weave T300 carbon fibre/epoxy composite initiated by air-blast loading of varying intensity is investigated. Analysis of high-speed video of a specimen's response revealed the onset of fracture and its effect on the character of oscillation. Post-experiment X-ray micro computed tomography revealed the extent of the internal damage based on a full in-depth volumetric study.
