Abstract
A low cost magnetic resonance (MR) image display console is presented. Spin echo-images are obtained form 1.5 T GE SIGNA MR scanner. The viewing console can acquire MR images from three different sources: SIGNA archive tapes, CD-ROM, or FTP/ethernet link directly to the SIGNA. Once loaded onto the workstation, the user chooses several types of static image displays. Images are presented much as they appear on the SIGNA console. To keep the cost of this system low, the software is vendor-neutral. It utilizes eight thousand lines of C code, MIT's X Window system, and the UNIX operating system.
