Abstract
An exact solution is presented to the problem of current spreading in the resistive layer of stripe geometry DH lasers. Computed examples demonstrate that the customary onedimensional treatment of the resistive layer or the assumption of constant current density distribution under the stripe contact are not always justified. © 1981, The Institution of Electrical Engineers.
