Abstract
The Martinez-Parks approach to the design of IIR (infinite impulse response) filters with zeros on the unit circle is modified to provide linear equations at each step of the associated Remez exchange algorithm, greatly simplifying and accelerating the algorithm. Arbitrary upper and lower constraints can be specified on the magnitude response, with equiripple designs including elliptic and Chebyshev (type I) filters as special cases. Examples are given to demonstrate the design method.
