Abstract
This paper describes a platform created for the design of CMOS amplifiers. The user interactive design tool generates device sizes and operating points from a given set of specifications and provides an easy to use interface for tuning the amplifier performance for a given application. The algorithm used in the program uses a knowledge based design methodology with a gradient search method to estimate the sizing of each transistor. The tool also provides a variety of outputs including a spice netlist, plots for transient, DC and AC analysis and a tabulated overall system description. © 2006 IEEE.
