Abstract

Disk arrays have become increasingly popular as a means of improving performance of secondary storage systems. In making design decisions, it is essential to understand the performances of different configurations as well as effects of system parameters on their performance. Analytical performance models are desirable in both configuring and designing disk arrays since they provide designers with a quick and efficient tool to evaluate and understand a system with a wide range of system and workload parameters. © 1994 IEEE.
