Abstract
The differential Global Positioning System (GPS) and Wide Area Augmentation System maritime services (WAAS) are discussed. The coast guard operates a maritime differential GPS service consisting of two control centers and many remote broadcasting sites. It was observed that the beacon coverage is excellent throughout the harbor areas with coverages in shipping channels. The result show that in the areas where elevation angle is low, coverage is lost due to terrain obstructions and rolling of vessel.
