URI’s Center for the Humanities was established by Faculty Senate legislation in 1994 and is designed to foster intellectual exchange and independent inquiry, analysis, and interpretation of the humanities in research, teaching, and learning. This site contains descriptions and recordings, when available, of past events hosted by the Center for the Humanities in 2024-2025. In this year, the Center sponsored a lecture series, "Sustaining Democracy," and a brown bag series featuring URI faculty and student work. For more information on the Center, see https://web.uri.edu/humanities/.
