Abstract

This study proposes an integrated value-creation process for innovation-intensive service industries. A strategic service approach with a three-tier framework is utilised to assess the nation as a whole in knowledge economy development. The innovation intensive services (IIS) presents an analytical model which describes the dynamic linkages between national systems of innovation and a firm's core competence and externalities. Due to the dynamic evolution and increasing complexity of the world market, the services approach represents the most effective means for integrating diverse resources into systems service offerings. The IIS platform is developed to promote technological innovation and industrial development with a platform structure for service-based operations. The model is designed that it integrates the firm's internal resources and externalities, the service process and the targeted innovation on an interchangeable interface, along with a parallel process of integrating hierarchical tiers of network participants in a knowledge economy.
