Abstract

This study examined experiences with discrimination and microaggressions among sexual and gender minority (SGM) and college students with multiple intersectional identities. Participants included 49,967 college students derived from the 2022 American College Health Association National College Health Assessment III Survey. Findings from logistic regression modeling showed that SGM students were more likely to experience discrimination and microaggression. SGM students were also more likely to experience distress and poor academic performance secondary to experiences of discrimination and microaggression. Results of this study emphasize the need for support and resources towards minoritized groups within college settings.
