Description

URI Alumna Cynthia Cooper, a textile and fashion curator, provided a virtual tour of the McCord Museum's exhibition on Christian Dior. The show was divided into day, afternoon, and evening wear. It featured Dior's famous New Look, a post WWII silhouette that appeared in all of Dior's twenty-two collections. Dior opened his house in 1947 and was so successful that by the time of his death in 1957, Dior products made up 5% of France's exports.
