Jonas Ecke, Ph.D., is a Lecturer in the Humanities and Social Sciences at Ashesi University close to Accra, Ghana. He has conducted research for Non-governmental Organizations (NGOs) in Liberia, Ghana and South Sudan. He has also been on brief project-visits to Iraq and Turkey, where he taught NGO-staff how to apply qualitative research methods in the Iraqi and Syrian context. His research expertise lies in the post-return integration of refugee returnees. Aside from generating policy advice for humanitarian work, he is also interested in the structural causes for conflict.
