Abstract

The 2014 IEEE Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence (IEEE SSCI 2014) was held in Orlando, from December 9th to 12th, 2014. This is the first time that the SSCI 'Symposium of Symposia' was organized in an even year. This is the first time that IEEE SSCI was organized in December, rather than its traditional timeframe in March/April. This is the first time that IEEE SSCI has organized a Doctoral Consortium (DC) event, specifically targeting the Ph.D. students in the CI field. IEEE SSCI 2014 has also taken a new initiative to organize Plenary Talks at the general conference level. Women in Computational Intelligence sub-committee organized a meeting within IEEE SSCI 2014 to gather women in computational intelligence together, provide a networking platform and allow experiences exchange.
