At a time of widespread concern about challenges to democracy, the URI Center for the Humanities presented “Sustaining Democracy: A Humanities Lecture Series.” This yearlong speaker series (which ran parallel to the Fall 2024 Honors Colloquium on “Democracy in Peril” and extend into Spring 2025) aimed to demonstrate the critical role that the arts and humanities play in sustaining and inspiring democratic engagement.
